The ground rules.
AutoScout connects private-party vehicle listings with discovery tools and vehicle information. Here is what that means.

What AutoScout is
AutoScout provides tools for vehicle research, reports, and a marketplace for private-party vehicle listings. Listings and communications are provided by users. We do not sell vehicles, collect buyer-to-seller vehicle payments, offer escrow, guarantee vehicle condition or title, or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of third-party information or reports.
Vehicle information and reports are decision-support tools, not a substitute for an independent inspection, title review, or advice from qualified professionals. Buyers and sellers are responsible for verifying vehicle details and completing their transaction directly.
Your responsibilities
Keep your account information accurate, protect your sign-in credentials, and use the service lawfully. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings and messages, having authority to post submitted material, and treating other users respectfully.
Do not misrepresent vehicles, impersonate others, post unlawful or deceptive content, or use the service to solicit credentials, sensitive personal information, or unsafe payments. Use reporting tools for concerns and do not treat a listing, message, or reported claim as verified solely because it appears on AutoScout.
We may review reports and take appropriate action on content or accounts under our operating rules. Availability and functionality may change. No sales outcome is promised.
Membership, billing & account
Your first report is free, with no card required. Single Report purchases cost $14.99 and add one credit; the 3-Car Pack costs $29.99 and adds three credits. These regular report credits do not expire. The 30-Day Shopper Pass costs $39.99 and allows up to 15 reports within 30 days of purchase. These purchases are one-time payments, not recurring subscriptions.
An active Shopper Pass is used before regular credits. Unused pass reports expire when the pass expires. Buying another pass before expiry extends the current expiry by 30 days and adds 15 reports to its limit. Regular credits are kept separately and remain available after the pass ends. Failed report generation does not consume a credit or pass report.
Existing report subscriptions continue under their original prices, renewal terms, and monthly report allowances until canceled. Manage or cancel an existing subscription in Reports & Billing. This includes any previously purchased SCOUT subscription.
SCOUT now adds one bonus report credit per account, once ever, in addition to the normal free first report. No card, checkout, or subscription is required. The bonus is a regular report credit and does not expire. Redeeming it does not alter an existing subscription. SCOUT campaign attribution and the redemption date are recorded with the account to prevent duplicate claims.
Marketplace listing fees are one-time payments per listing: Standard costs $5 for 90 days; Premium costs $25 and includes an AutoScout report and Featured placement for the first 14 days. A live Standard listing can be upgraded to Premium for $20. Identity verification and private-owner approval are separate requirements, not paid benefits. The 90-day listing term starts at approval, not payment. Rejected listings receive an automatic refund of their listing payments.
Premium reports are shown to buyers exactly as generated, including all verdicts and red flags. Sellers preview the report and may request one free asking-price re-run before submitting for review. Live asking-price changes refresh the report at no charge. A report older than 30 days can be refreshed for free once per 30 days. If generation still fails after a retry, the listing remains Standard and $20 is refunded. Featured placement rotates among eligible listings, respects search filters, and applies only to default sorting for 14 days; it does not guarantee views or a sale.
After each 90-day term, a seller must confirm current mileage and details and pay $5 for a Standard relist or $25 for Premium. Each car can have at most two relists, for 270 days total. Creating another listing does not reset the vehicle limit. Marketplace promo codes work once per seller account on its first-ever listing only, cannot be combined, and may expire or have a usage limit. A Standard-fee waiver skips payment; a Premium discount takes $5 off its fee. Each code states which option it covers.
You may request account deletion from Settings. Deletion cancels all subscriptions and removes your Stripe billing profile and saved payment methods before removing your Clerk identity. It scrubs your profile, own content and report files through processing, withdraws listings, and removes access to credits and reports. Requests can be blocked by open disputed sales, active auction commitments, or removal of the last administrator. An anonymized user anchor, limited shared history, and records needed for billing or another participant’s transaction history may remain. This is not a promise of immediate removal from providers or backups.
